I collect my friends
Like freshwater pearls
Over time
Only to watch them scatter
Across oceans now

Little kids run around gleely
Bandages on heads
Blood stains on their shirts
Their immediate pain gone
They are just happy
Rotund and happy
With blood stains on their shirts
And a bandage like a crown
