saving snails

like the star fish that are thrown back to sea

one by one 

we pick up snails 

and put them in the grass

to avoid them being trampled underfoot or wheel 

where are they headed

these sluggish beasts carrying their worldly belongings on their backs

trekking across dangerous paths 

do they know what there is on the other side 

does the journey matter more than the destination 

what do they think

as they hang airborne for a while 

under our fingers giving them a lift ? 

they curl straight up as soon as we lay them down

setting out to slime 

they fly 

and are afraid 

have we helped or hurt? 

their homes look so sturdy

yet with one step of our boot

they crack 

their bodies reduced to lifeless slime

mixed in with bits of shell 

to avoid this 

we pick them up and put them away 

beautiful sunday

thank you god for the beautiful morning we had yesterday 

my mum and inat coney island

the green

the sea 

just so special

then that bird. I didn't do much 

but I was there and it got free. 

I hope it survived. 

a white dove stuck in a kite string across trees 

later that morning 

my baby learned to cycle 

at last haha

she is so cautious. 

and she says, to my delight

I am unstoppable! haha

so adorable. 

she liked my song to keep her going 

I love her so

the other day she shared 

I feel like i am.no use in this house. 

she who is the glue for the whole family feeling this way 

realise they need to be told that we value them immensely. 

now we are in full prep for dsa

and been having the most interesting conversations with akshaya 

it has been good. 

I pray she does well. god thank you for being with her at her interview! 

creepers

the way creepers just twine themselves around fences, gates, white  

simple pleasure

one of the simple pleasures I have is waking up the kids in the morning

the other day all three were curled up in the same position, facing me when I switched on the orange light. so serene their three sleeping faces facing me. 

I like cuddling them in the mornings when I am more awake. 

and konjing them at night before they sleep. nuzzling them kissing them. 

I am so blessed to be able to do that. 

my husband wants me to banish my younger kids to my parents place every weekend! well they will be happy so its just me.

where do I begin 

during these 9days of elections 

I cried for my country 

I worried about what my kids were going to grow up into

today I am proud of my country 

we have shown the pap we are beyond their racialised politics

we care about more than jobs

we care about clean politics. we are against bullying. 

we care about climate change and becoming a fair society 

we voted in tharman highest among pap

we voted in 10 wp. led by pritam singh.  

aljunied had 3 minority voices. 

still they won. people voted the best. not based on race. 

we were wowed by pritam's leadership. 

they tried their smear campaigns against pritam thru alfian.  and with Raeesah. it all backfired. they did good for them as it showed them to be the better people and pap to be empty vessels making a lot of useless threatening noise. 

seriously. how can they defend heng swee keat and dr wu's comments and go after raeesah? blogger xuexia or something too..

they threaten free speech thru pofma

would have loved to see paul tambayah and tan cheng bok in parliament too. 

but now we have pritam , sylvia, jamus, raeesah, among others. 

we have professors, lawyers, army people

I look forward to the day we have teachers nurses and writers in there too 

in recent years, some rubbish pap has done 

1. pofma

2. presidential elections 

3. ncmp scheme 

4. non indian pm

5. their "oneself check ownself" practices 

lots is made about how young voters are not swayed by pap. this may be true but it's not only the young. older voters like my parents and seetha Aunty all also voted opposition. in my parents case for the very first time. because they know the pap of today is different from the past when lky was at the helm

they dont like the bullying. they especially dont like the husband and wife teams and brothers and uncles and cousins teams in the pap. the lack of accountability. my dad is an accountant. this grates on him. 

they also thought giving all that money would sway us. we appreciate the money. but we listened too when opposition said they were but giving us our own money back. 

they start behaving like dirty politicians then their income should also reflect it. the 1 million dollar salary for the pm is just too much 

rather than preventing those in power from turning to corruption it may rather tempt people into politics for the wrong reasons. super high salary. ride in on coattails of senior ministers. 

had tea with ny dad today. he really moved me with what he said

I am a very huge pap supporter. but at the ballot table I had to think hard. do I vote for pap or Singapore.? 

I love my dad

he also shared that the provision store holder in his office building. he may be alive if he hadn't followed Gov advice. that is sad. because he was a devoted follower of the pap. 

my dad is happy he made the change. that he too voted in the opposition. because of his love for the country and the quality of the opposition. a lawyer an activist an economist and accountant. these are credible people. 

I owe a lot to sudhir too . his show made so much sense. I sent that to my mum..they forwarded it to seetha Aunty.  not sure how they voted but still. 

change is in  the air. love of nation is in the air. 

feels good. 

well. sg wants to move past the race card. am so happy. looks like pap stuck in some old mode. forgot to reinvent themselves. the new cadre believe in fear mongering. they've made moe a more scary place to work in than previous education ministers.

their party member says minorities 

should be grateful for our education 

their minister says that's a thoughtful post 

they point at a minority who says she feels marginalised 

and says she is stoking up racial hatred

she is hurting the feelings of chinese and Christian's

I'm sickened by them

they pay an agency to do a racist ad

then come down hard on an individual who protests 

I will not vote for bullies. 

they are scared

 so scared they dont let civil servants speak

they don't want their cream of the crop elite students to speak 

just be quiet and accept all that we pir down your throats 

they cannot engage 

they can only bring down the law and terrorise people into silence
