Library home

First you took my library
You tore those greek columns down
Ripping pages and burying it in tarmac
Where now a tunnel flows
Saving us five min in travel time
At the expense of history

Now you've taken my home
Razing it down and calling it
Affinity At Serangooon
You don't recognise irony
Even when it kicks you in the face
What we had was affinity
A home for 30 years
Where i grew up
Where my children were born

And now it will become
Dust
Before it is raised again
In tiny shoebox form
Affinity

First my library then my home
What next?
