through his window
Late one night, when i was 20
Feeling tipsy, i hailed a taxi

I sobered up quickly
As a working mother at 30,
I felt quite guilty

My boss said to console me
Yesterday in the kindy
4-year old Johnny
Wouldn't hold my daughter's hand
Said she's 'dirty'
Today at gym class
6-year old Stace
Laughed at my son
Called him poop face
The pledge has not changed
In my 40 years of grace
We still say
