voices in my head

from student to a teacher 

I used to sit in class

to watch you speak and 

jab at the air to emphasise a point

now I watch you on the screen 

but the jabs are not obvious 

your hands just disappear into virtual backgrounds

and you stop yourself, reluctantly I can tell

I plug my headphones in

and now you are right in my head 

booming, I can't escape you

I can't avoid you
