your 13th was the last time you were truly truly happy
it's been almost all downhill since then
you got your period and we treated you like a princess, kind of,
but it wasn't your party .
and then it happened
thaipusam I think was
and it kind of never let up
hitting harder in March and May
deprived you of a holiday
and then our happiness
was always shadowed by some fear
perhaps of us fighting
but also because you had seen pain
and despite all that we said
you seemed to know
that it may come again
and it did on the Highlands
bringing us lower than ever
and here we are
under again
again
again.
