teaching prompt mynah twist

v2

Have you seen a mynah
by the edge of the pool
or in a puddle of water
in the middle of the pavement?

It settles itself in,
like in a grand Roman bath
before it starts doing unRoman antics
like puffing up its feathers,
wiggling its body, and
splashing water all around
till it is slick, gleaming black.

Morning abulations over,
it steps back to stoop low,
scoops up the same water in its yellow beak, and
tips its head back to let it run down its throat.

Mynahs teach me how to luxuriate in a bath
but I'd rather not drink my bathwater.

I could watch a mynah all day..
